In 2003, artists Treg Silkwood and Candace Martin combined their artistic talents to form Silkwood Glass, a custom glass company specializing in Marine glass sculpture. Together they create unique, one of a kind, handcrafted glass and sculpture largely inspired by the natural world. Their mission is to create exceptional glasswork that evokes a similar sense of wonder and awe to that they have discovered on their walks along the California Coast.
Their work has been exhibited internationally and has won numerous awards including the 2010 People’s Choice Award and the 2009 Juror’s Choice Award at the Bay Area Glass Institute’s Annual Auction. Silkwood Glass has been featured in Sunset Magazine and is available at many prestigious galleries including Vetri International Gallery in Seattle and Tacoma, The Vault Gallery in Santa Cruz, and the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York.
In 2008, Treg was honored to be the second of two artist invited by Steuben to have a Solo Show at The Steuben Flagship Store on Madison Avenue in New York City. From May thru October an exclusive collection of over one hundred pieces of his sculptural work was featured in the “Steuben Selections Series,” which was established to showcase the world’s foremost artists in glass.
